Forum posting is becoming one of the most popular ways to advertise. Here are 9 steps to profitable forums.

Step 1: Put in Your Link
Make sure you go to a forum that lets you place a link in your signature, or at least lets you post your URL.

Step 2: Giveaways
Even if all you give is advice, people will appreciate it and be more likely to come to your website.

Step 3: Signature
Make a good signature for profitable forums—make it unforgettable or people will forget. It’s just that simple.

Step 4: Plan Your Participation
Allot a certain amount of time periodically for forum posts. If people seem to be relying heavily on your advice, participate more frequently.

Step 5: As for Something
It’s often said that if you want a friend, ask for something. People like to give advice; it gives them a better sense of value. Always report the result later on the forum if it’s a good result.

Step 6: Outside the Forum
Offer people your email address, but only in the private forum email.

Step 7: Thank People
Always find a reason to thank someone periodically. It shows you are truly participating and paying attention.

Step 8: Profitable Forums
If a forum is not gaining you anything, leave—you likely don’t have time.

Step 9: Your Own Forum
If you can’t find a profitable forum, make one. You can put it right on your own website, and invite your customers and others to join and help each other.
