Backlinks are a great way to get more traffic and exposure to your website. They increase your page’s presence on the web and allow search engines to find and rank your page better in search results, so obviously, the more backlinks you have, the better off you will be.

If I author a post on someone else’s blog that has good readership and a lot of traffic, someone who is reading their blog might be interested and click on the link back to my website. But before you go start writing your articles, realize that they must have good, relevant information. You cannot throw some words on a page and submit it. You also can’t have blatant advertising in the article or it will not be accepted into the directories. Writing content rich articles can only benefit you because good article content will help establish you as an authority and someone worth listening to.
If you are lazy and have no intention of writing and submitting articles, but still want to increase your web presence, you can buy backlinks to your site. There are companies that are selling backlinks that are unique. This is the lazy mans way of doing it, but from what I have read and heard, they seem to be worth the price. What is the price you say? Most services will have upwards of 400 backlinks to your website for $24.95/month, which is not bad at all. Maybe even worth trying out.
The last method that I will talk about is exchanging links. I like this method because you are dealing with real people. Exchanging links with other websites involves allowing other authors to have links on your website in exchange for a backlink to yours on their website. Finding websites that are related to yours and exchanging links can help readership of both websites, and also help create a community of people that regularly read and visit your page. These are just a few of the ways that you can get backlinks to your website and increase traffic.
